I broke my parents blender trying to make this and now they are mad at me
Along the same lines - buy a bag of frozen mango (or pineapple) and a bag of frozen raspberries. dump into food processor, add about 1/4 cup honey, about the same amount of water. process until smooth. eat right away, or freeze. best sorbet you ever had! and the color is gorgeous!
You can also take the puree'd and frozen banana, make a uniform round ball with an ice cream scoop, dip into melted chocolate and roll in chopped walnuts before serving.
1) It doesn't taste like ice cream, it tastes like banana sorbet. Add a splash of heavy cream to give it the right flavor/texture 2) Get a Yohanas Frozen Dessert maker, it's purpose built and will hold up to the wear and tear of mashing frozen bananas better than your blender: https://yonanas.com/products/yonanas-classic
You can whip the banana in the blender before freezing. Entrain a lot of air in the mix for the sweetest flavor and creamiest texture. Freeze at least an hour, up to overnight. Dust with nutmeg, it adds an extra dimension on the tongue.
I very seldom comment on recipes, so it took a lot for me to actually review this. Save the banana and eat it fresh! Freezing it definitely diminishes the flavor! You get a lovely smooth consistency and very little flavor. Totally a waste of time, effort and of course the banana.
