These are some of the must do adventure activities in Dubai and you definitely need to try them when you are in Dubai or UAE next.
Even though most of them are based in Dubai, I have included activities from all over UAE for you to try the next time. Since it is a small country, it is possible to do most of them over the course of your week long stay in Dubai.
Hiring a Luxury Car in Dubai
This is an activity that is a combination of both luxury and adventure and is one of my favorite things to do in any new country I visit.
You cannot leave the city without trying a Dubai luxury car rental. You can hire luxury cars like the Lamborghinis, Porsches, Ferraris, Rolls Royce’s, Maybach’s etc at a decent price.
What better thrill than to drive these unforgettable cars on Dubai roads for a day or a week!! And to feel like a queen/ king of adventure during your time in Dubai.
Where to do: You can hire them and drive them on all roads in Dubai. Particularly the highways of Dubai. Just keep the speed limits in mind with these mighty beasts.
And all you need is a driving license in English or an IDP from anywhere around the world.
Price: Starting from 500 AED (135$) to 7000 AED (2000 $) per day depending on the car and model you choose.
Skydiving in Dubai
The first time I jumped out of a plane in Australia, I was terrified of doing it till I actually did it. And now I can’t wait to do it again someday.
And Skydiving in Dubai is one of the best adventure sports in Dubai to do these days. Due to its strategic location over the Palm, you are making memories of a lifetime while seeing an adrenaline kick.
You jump from 13,000 ft with an instructor who will capture your videos and photos with you.
You know what my favorite part of Skydiving was: the freefall!

Skydiving in Australia
Deep Diving at the World’s Deepest pool
Jump into the deepest pool in the world with a depth of 60 m. You can choose to either snorkel or do scuba diving here based on your interests.
This is a once in a lifetime experience if you are looking for adventure in Dubai. If you choose the Scuba diving option for beginners, you can explore a sunken abandoned city including a sunken car.
You can also choose to do freediving here.

Price: 400 AED (110$) for snorkelling and 1800 AED (500$) for Discover Scuba diving.
Dune Bashing in Dubai
This is one of the most popular things to do in Dubai as well as one of the most affordable Dubai adventure activities.
While you are the red dunes, you can also try your hand at sandboarding and quad biking.
Every time, your 4*4 slides down those dunes, you clutch at anything you can grab and the thrill just keeps getting bigger and bigger with every dune bash.
This is usually followed by a relaxed traditional Arabic meal with lots of cultural activities like belly dancing
Where to go: Most tours offer pickup and drop services from your hotel in Dubai to red dunes for your desert safari experience.

Yas Island in Abu Dhabi
This is a must visit for all adventure enthusiasts to UAE. With 4 theme parks and a plethora of adventure activities in UAE to choose from, you are spoilt for choices when visiting Yas Island.
Yas Island is located in Abu Dhabi, hardly 1 to 1.5 hours away from Dubai and you can choose to spend either as a day trip or choose to spend a few days there depending on your interest levels.
Some of the must do adventure activities in Yas Island are to:
- Experience more than 40 thrilling rides at Ferrari world which is considered to be of the one of the best among adventure parks in Dubai.
- Enjoy Yas waterworld theme parks which has many thrilling water slides and water rides for both kids and adults.
- Fall in love with Yas Seaworld which is one of my nephew’s favorite places on Earth. He was even interviewed by them because of his love for sharks and all marine animals. You can even go for Under the sea walking adventure here.
- Have an unforgettable F1 driving experience at the Yas Marine circuit.
- Go rock climbing or indoor skydiving at Yas Clymb.
- And many other adventure activities to choose from and is a must for adventure tourism in Dubai.

Price: Starting at AED 375 (100$) for one park to 675 AED (200$) for 4 parks. Some activities like underwater sea walking will cost extra.
Hiking in Hatta
If you ask the locals and UAE residents where they usually go for adventure in UAE, Hatta is the answer.
It is a mountain enclave and is popular for anyone looking to do outdoor activities in Dubai like hiking, biking, and kayaking in the Hajar Mountains.
It is around 1.5 hours waya from Dubai and you can choose from the many adventure camps in the region too to spend your day.
Many schools in the UAE regularly send their students here for few days of adventure sports in Dubai.

Jet Car Ski in Burj Al Arab
Most of us have driven a jet ski at least once in our life. The thrill of zipping through the waters while we drive a jet skill is unmatched for all water babies like me.
But Dubai takes it one step further and in Dubai, you can actually drive your own Jet car ski. This is currently on my bucketlist of one of the outdoor activities in Dubai to do on my next visit.
And you can do this while catching some fantastic views of the Burj Al Arab or the Atlantis.
Where to go: Jumeriah Fishing Harbour
Price: 620 AED (170$) onwards
Atlantis Water Park
The Atlantis adventure water park in Dubai or Aquaventure is the largest water park in the world with more than 105 slides and a lot of adventure activities to choose from.
The most famous water slide here is the Leap of faith which is an almost vertical iconic water slide and tunnels filled with sharks.
