Yield:Serves 4 children or 2 adults
  • 1 teaspoon butter

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • 2 tablespoons chicken stock

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ½ pound snow peas, or about 3 cups

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Place everything but snow peas in a shallow, wide sauté pan over medium-high heat. Stir and bring to a boil.

  2. Step 2

    Add snow peas, toss to coat and stir occasionally just until peas are cooked, about 3 minutes. Serve immediately.

Tip
  • Glazing also works well with turnips and other vegetables, though thicker vegetables may need more liquid and time to cook.

Love this sauce with green beans!

Melted butter in a small area of the pan and sauteed a clove of minced garlic and an eighth tsp crushed red pepper. Added snow peas, stock, and honey, mixed and cooked per the recipe. Removed snow peas and tossed with 3/4's tsp balsamic vinegar.

The snow peas should be trimmed of their "strings" before cooking.
