Ingredients
1 cup rice
6 cups water
3 tablespoons butter
½ cup finely chopped onions
¼ cup slivered blanched almonds
½ cup finely chopped green pepper
½ cup finely diced, thinly sliced cooked ham
Salt to taste if desired
Freshly ground pepper to taste
Preparation
- Step 1
Rinse and drain the rice. Bring the water to the boil and add the rice. Let boil until rice is tender, about 17 minutes. Drain thoroughly.
- Step 2
Meanwhile, heat 2 tablespoons butter in a heavy saucepan and add onions and almonds. Stir and cook until mixture is lightly browned. Add green pepper and ham and cook, stirring, about 5 minutes.
- Step 3
Add the rice to the green pepper mixture and stir in remaining one tablespoon butter, salt and pepper. Stir to blend well. Cook 5 minutes, stirring.

I have not cooked this however even as a Latino I know this is not a recipe for fried rice. No soy sauce? Just a small clue something is wrong with this recipe.
