No need for sugar. Just purée watermelon and add juice of one lemon and one lime.

Sugar is optional, taste it first. It will all depend on how ripe your watermelon is. You can always pull out a cup of the mixture and dissolve some of sugar in that, mix it in and test it.

We doubled the recipe & made following tweaks with terrific results, as follows: -Used 4 packets of Stevia for additional sweetening instead of sugar. -Used 1/2 the amount of seltzer recommended. Served in glasses filled with ice—delicious at a outdoor concert!

My beau made watermelon vase with addition of white rum and 4 packets of Stevia sweetener instead of sugar. We added u flavored seltzer per recipe & served in glasses over ice. Healthy, very tasty cocktail for any out door group event! Everyone LOVED it.

This was terrific. Made as described here. Spiked it lightly with basic rum. Served in a hollowed out mini watermelon at our beach bonfire. A winner!
