  • 2 pounds sardines, dressed and deboned

  • 6 bay leaves

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Arrange sardines in single layer in a shallow baking dish. Place bay leaves between every other pair.

  2. Step 2

    Beat oil with lemon juice and cumin and pour over sardines.

  3. Step 3

    Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Refrigerate overnight.

  4. Step 4

    To serve, remove fish from jellied sauce.

Forgot the cumin, oops... It was delicious, though. I ate them as is, but should be good in sandwiches, salads, pasta dishes...
