Ingredients
Yield:4 servings
½ of Basic Meat Sauce recipe
2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano or 2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or 1 teaspoon dried basil
4 tablespoons coffee
1 cup dry red wine
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Preparation
- Step 1
To the basic meat sauce mixture add the remaining ingredients.
- Step 2
Simmer about 1 hour, until the mixture is thick.
- Step 3
Sauce can be refrigerated up to three days or frozen for longer.
