  • 6 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon crushed red-pepper flakes

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Place the broccoli rabe in a five-quart casserole. Toss with the olive oil and crushed red-pepper flakes.

  2. Step 2

    Cover tightly with microwave plastic wrap. Cook at 100 percent power in a high-power oven for 10 minutes. Prick plastic to release steam.

  3. Step 3

    Remove from oven and uncover. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Toss with cooked and drained pasta.
