Ingredients

Yield:1 cocktail
  • 2ounces dry, filtered sake
  • 1ounce pomegranate juice
  • ½ounce orange liqueur
  • ½ounce vermouth bianco (or substitute sweet vermouth)
  • 4pomegranate seeds
  • 1mint leaf

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all ingredients except pomegranate seeds and mint leaf. Stir rapidly until outside of shaker is frosted. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and mint.

Made this very pretty drink for friends. First question out:"Where's the booze?" I added a hearty splash of vodka to each drink and that seemed to do pull it together nicely. I also had some blood orange juice on hand, and split it 50/50 with the pomegranate juice. Didn't have pomegranate seeds or mint but topped each drink with a few pink peppercorns. Sorry to be one of those people who mess with a recipe in a review, but I'd say this Market Crash is a great foundation and keeper.
