There’s only one way to improve on tequila shots: chase them with a short glass of spicy, citrusy sangrita. This recipe makes an entire pitcher of sangrita, enough for several shots, though you could also pair it with very cold Mexican beer.

We added clamato and Worchestershire sauce for depth. Yummy!

In Mexico - this drink is 2/3rds of something called Bandaras. The 3rd glass is pure lime juice (the glasses, in total, represent the colors of the Mexico flag, hence Bandaras). Lay out 3 small (or shot-glasses) Fill each with the appropriate content. Then, you sip the tequila, followed by the sangrita, followed by the lime juice. It leaves a bit of a tingle and begins a long relationship with a wonderful cocktail process.

Nice! Added a healthy squeeze of simple syrup; leaves a (IMHO) slightly more complex taste in mouth.
