Preparation

  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an eight-inch square baking dish with some of the melted butter.

  2. Step 2

Toss the apple chunks in a bowl with the remaining melted butter, the lemon juice, three tablespoons of the granola, four tablespoons of the sugar and one-half teaspoon of the cinnamon. Spread the mixture in the baking dish.

  3. Step 3

Using a fork, lightly blend the whole-wheat flour and the remaining cinnamon with softened butter until it is crumbly. Mix in the remaining sugar and granola. Spread this mixture over the apples.

  4. Step 4

Bake about 40 minutes, until the top has browned and the filling is bubbly. Allow to cool until just warm, about an hour, then serve with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

I really enjoyed this. I made it with Purely Elizabeth Salty Sweet granola. Took it to a presidential debate party with the edited name of Apple Granola Kamala

This was a disappointment: it did not turn out as well as Samantha Seneviratne's apple crumble. Will not make again: too soupy, and topping was too floury.
