  • 4 large ripe red tomatoes

  • 4 cloves garlic, each cut into 4 slivers

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano or 1 tablespoon dried

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Preheat broiler to high

  2. Step 2

    Core tomatoes and slice them in half

  3. Step 3

    Place tomatoes in a baking dish large enough to hold tomato halves cut-side up. Insert 2 slivers of garlic in each. Sprinkle each half with chopped oregano, olive oil, salt and pepper

  4. Step 4

    Place tomatoes under broiler for about 5 minutes
