Ingredients
- 4pomegranates
- Juice of 3 limes
- 1tablespoon brown sugar
- 7ounces aged rum
- 10pieces star anise
- 2cinnamon sticks
- 1teaspoon mulling spices, or any combination of whole allspice, cloves, cardamom pods and dried or fresh orange peel
- 4dried figs, sliced
- 1bottle fruity red wine
Preparation
- Step 1
Roll the pomegranates on a countertop to soften. Halve them crosswise and hold them, cut side down, over a medium saucepan, hitting the backsides until all the seeds have been released. Add the lime juice, brown sugar, rum, 10 pieces of star anise, cinnamon, mulling spices and 3 of the sliced figs. Bring to a boil and simmer 7 minutes. Add the wine and let it rest, covered, 10 minutes. Serve warm, strained or not, in small mugs garnished with a fig slice and a piece of star anise.

Why does the picture show a drink with fizz? There's nothing with bubbles in the recipe.
The punch is good, but the written recipe’s proportions are crazy. Try 1 pomegranate, juice of 1 lime, 1 cup rum, and 4 pieces star anise. The 10 pieces overpowered the punch.
The photo is from the recipe for Christmas spritz, which is Prosecco and pomegranate juice. https://body-change.today/recipes/1015798-christmas-spritz%3C/a%3E
