Ingredients
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon lime juice
2 ounces clear rum
1 teaspoon orange juice
½ teaspoon Curaçao liqueur
1 small lime wedge or wheel, for garnish
Preparation
- Step 1
Place all ingredients except lime in a blender with ½ cup ice, preferably in small cubes. Blend about 5 seconds. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass, straining out ice with blender’s lid (or for a particularly refined daiquiri, a sieve). Balance lime wedge or wheel on glass’s rim.

I didn't have curacao, so used Grand Marnier instead, and golden rum instead of white. It came out a bit "harsh", but adding a couple teaspoons of molasses and re-blending mellowed it and added an interesting depth. At that point, the only problem was that it went down so easy it was gone immediately!
Since I had a pile of tangerines on hand, I squeezed a few of them for their juice instead of oranges (and used double the amount, just because). I also used triple sec instead of curaçao...and made 4 drinks at once in the blender. All enjoyed, will make again!
