  • 1 large garlic clove, peeled

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese or Romano

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Preheat broiler.

  2. Step 2

    Rub the outside of the bread with the garlic. Cut the bread into slices about ¼-inch thick.

  3. Step 3

    Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and brush one side with oil.

  4. Step 4

    Place under the broiler until lightly browned on one side. Turn and repeat.

  5. Step 5

    Top each crouton with the Parmesan cheese. Place under the broiler until golden brown.
