    Combine the water, butter, sugar, salt and pepper in a 10-inch skillet. Add the carrots and place over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until all of the water has evaporated and the carrots are tender, about 20 minutes. Divide among 4 plates and serve.

perfection! I omitted the sugar and did 1/2 c orange juice, 1/2 c water, with a few shakes of ginger powder.

Perfect for that extra bag of baby carrots you bought in the “buy-one get-one-free” offer! Tasted very nice with our pork tenderloin in mustard honey marinade.
